SENATE HEALTH, EDUCATION, LABOR, AND PENSIONS

Dear Delegates:

Welcome to Harvard Model Congress San Francisco 2022!

We cannot wait to welcome you to Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions. Senate HELP focuses on issues regarding these domains and has served an important role throughout current Congressional discussions regarding infrastructure. We will be discussing Paid Family Leave.

This year your chairs are Katie O’Meara & Chloe Eckert. Here’s a little more about us!

Katie is a senior at Harvard studying History of Science with a secondary in Educational Studies. Originally from Plano, Texas (a suburb outside of Dallas), this is her tenth conference. She has staffed conferences in Boston, Tokyo, San Francisco (virtually!), and Madrid. She cannot wait to return to HMCSF this year and is looking forward to making this her best conference yet!

Chloe is a senior in Pforzheimer House studying History of Science with a citation in Bosnian, Croatian and Serbian. Originally from Tucson, Arizona, Chloe loves growing plants and playing with her cat. Outside of HMC, she works on medical school applications, hangs out with friends, paints her nails and eats way too many Harvard dining hall cookies!

As we get closer to the conference, be on the lookout for emails about a pre-conference assignment. This will give us a great opportunity to give you feedback on skills you’ll need at the conference before we all come together in San Francisco. If you have any questions before the conference, please feel free to reach out to the Director of Congressional Programs, Matt Tibbitts, at congressional@hmcsanfran.org. We can’t wait to meet you!

Best wishes,

Katie O’Meara and Chloe Eckert
