The World is in an Economic Crisis. The Solution? A Yacht.

Another day of the world’s economy suffering in the aftermath of a global pandemic; the only difference is that the World Bank is now $6 billion dollars in debt, and owns a $911 million party yacht.

Today, Norway proposed the bill “Party Yacht is in the House Tonight,” based on the lyrics of the song “Party Rock Anthem,” to purchase said party yacht in the midst of a global recession. In a surprising turn of events, the bill passed with flying colours, only having only three opposers (Bulgaria, Indonesia and Egypt). As governments unite to potentially reform the World Bank, the members celebrate their brand new luxury, renewable, hydro powered yacht, with a shocking 25% of their funding allocated to food. Not to mention, they have a $6 billion outstanding fine from the US Supreme Court.

“Yeah, so we’re officially broke,” claimed the delegate of Brazil while smiling, in an exclusive interview. “We have zero money.”

On the other hand, Indonesia’s delegation expressed their disappointment with this outcome. They stated that this costly purchase “goes against the values of the World Bank. We’re supposed to help others and not ourselves.” They continued, “We now have to beg a trillionaire for his donations to refund ourselves [...] It took all of our remaining money, and we now have to resort to begging the trillionaire.”

They also believed the money could have been put to better use, such as saving Indonesia’s capital city, Jakarta, from sinking into the ground as sea levels rise.

The leading events to the bill occurred when the Supreme court found Norway being guilty of treason, despite not being of the United States. Norway has been discussing the potential to buy a yacht since the very beginning of the conference because they claim “we’d saved so much money we could probably afford a yacht.” The plan was ultimately put into action with the remaining billion.

During Norway's authorship speech, they used 75% of all the remaining money to buy the hydro powered yacht since they “care about the environment” Instead of an oil operated boat, taking the current environmental situation into consideration when purchasing the super yacht.

Some details about the yacht is that it is named “Corruption” in honour of the committee's biggest value. In addition, it is most likely to be gold plated and massive, according to Norway, the country who created the bill.

When pressed for their final remarks, the delegate of Brazil simply stated “Party yacht is in the house tonight.” Summing this bizarre case.
